Truthful Situations

Everyone has secrets. Some secrets are worse than others. Some are so bad you wish no one would ever discover them. Family secrets are usually the hardest to keep. It causes embarrassment. It’s something you wish you could share with your friends but can’t. Your family chooses to ignore the problem as they share the secret with you. It’s their fault you even have to be silent. What do you do? Do you finally speak up? Do you keep it in? Can you? What do you do with your secrets?

Sometimes it’s the community you live in that keeps secrets. Secrets sheltered from the outside world. But what if you want more than your community is willing to give you? What if you want out?

Both C.J. Omololu and Shelley Hrdlitschka deal with these issues in their books. Both books will leave you thinking about your own secrets, family secrets and what you take for granted in your own life.
