Matched

What if your whole life was planned out for you? A society in which choices of love and career are not your own to make, even your death is predetermined. Would this make your life easier or more difficult? Would you question why you cannot choose or would you accept your fate?

For Cassia, her world begins to crumble when she becomes matched for life and realizes that there has been a mistake on her informational card. There are two faces she sees for her life mate, Xander and Ky, and even when she has been told it was a mistake, she cannot turn back. She begins to look at things differently. She begins to fall in love, and not with who has been chosen for her.

Her determination to choose sends a spiral of negative events into action that will affect everyone around her. Yet, she cannot stop herself. With each page, your heart will race as Cassia continues to shun the Officials warnings. For love and for choice.

Two quotes I just loved from the book:

“Tears well up but I blink them away. Because if there is one moment in my life that I want to see clearly, this is it.” P. 321

“This is a difficult balance, telling the truth: how much to share, how much to keep, which truths will wound but not ruin, which will cut too deep to heal.” P.357

Matched by Ally Condie is the first in a trilogy. Crossed is the second and is already out. I just need to get my hands on a copy of it!
