A Plague Year

I recently read A Plague Year by Edward Bloor and for the first time ever, I have to say that I was deeply disappointed by this book. I usually choose not to blog about a book if I have a less than a positive review. I just can't stop myself this time around.  The basis of it is that crystal meth has come to a small town in Pennsylvania and it is destroying people everywhere. The local high school students fight against it. The end. Seriously....I wanted so much more from this story. Maybe I have been spoiled by Ellen Hopkins but I expected more from this book. I kept reading it simply to see when the meth was going to ravage the town into complete disrepair. I can't help but wonder...was it just me? Has anyone else read this book and if so, what were you thoughts on it? I apologize to Mr. Bloor as he truly is an excellent writer and I have enjoyed his previous books. I just wasn't feeling it on this book.
