Imagine being an orphan. Just close your eyes and imagine being hungry, living in a home where there is never enough food. Imagine now being bought and pushed around only to be told that you may have the opportunity to become the next prince. Of course, if you're not chosen, you will be killed. Treason or death? Not the greatest of choices but one that is facing Sage in The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen. As the book progresses, you will feel his struggles with fear and uncertainty as he tries to fight against his situation.  The novel intensifies with each chapter and ends with a such a surprise that the reader is left anxiously waiting for the next in this Ascendance Trilogy.
